17+AN ACT
1618 Relating to Cullman County; to amend Section 45-22-234,
1719 Code of Alabama 1975; to further provide for certain
1820 individuals who retire from the sheriff's department.
1921 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2022 Section 1. Section 45-22-234, Code of Alabama 1975, is
2123 amended to read as follows:
2224 "ยง45-22-234
2325 (a) Any individual employed by the Cullman County
2426 Sheriff's Office as a law enforcement officer for a period of
2527 10 years or more who retires from the department in good
2628 standing may receive from the sheriff, without cost, a retired
2729 badge, a retired commission card, and a pistol, provided the
2830 pistol is any weapons furnished by the department.
2931 (b) This section shall have retroactive effect to
3032 January 1, 1999, upon its passage and approval by the Governor
3133 or upon its otherwise becoming a law ."
3234 Section 2. This act shall become effective on October
3335 1, 2024.
