	16	+	TEXAS LONGHORN BREEDERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA HALL OF FAME.
17	17		WHEREAS, with great esteem, we extend highest
18	18		commendations to Jimmy L. Jones on his induction into the
19	19		Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America Hall of Fame;
20	20		and
21	21		WHEREAS, the Texas Longhorn breed of cattle is an
22	22		icon of Texas and the Southwestern culture, representing
23	23		ranching, the American cowboy, and the American pioneer; and
24	24		WHEREAS, the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of
25	25		America (TLBAA) was founded in 1964 and is a nonprofit
26	26		organization with more than 3,800 active members, dedicated
27	27		to preserving this symbol of American heritage by protecting
28	28		the pedigree, supporting and recognizing breeders, and
29	29		educating the public on the numerous benefits the Texas
30	30		Longhorn offers cattlemen; and
31	31		WHEREAS, the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of
32	32		America Hall of Fame was established in 2016 and recognizes
33	33		breeders who have had the greatest impact and influence on
34	34		the Texas Longhorn breed; and
35	35		WHEREAS, Jimmy L. Jones of Horseshoe J Longhorns in
36	36		Greenville, Alabama, is the first-ever Alabama resident to
37	37		be inducted into the TLBAA Hall of Fame on January 12, 2024,
38		-	at the Fort Worth Stock Show, he was honored and recognized

71	71		WHEREAS, Mr. Jones, on that same evening, was awarded
72	72		the Elmer Parker Lifetime Achievement Award for his
73	73		dedication to preserving and promoting the Texas Longhorn
74	74		breed; now therefore,
75	75		BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
76	76		HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That Mr. Jimmy L. Jones is highly
77	77		honored and commended, and this resolution is offered to him
78	78		in deepest admiration and appreciation for his significant
79	79		contributions to the cattle industry, as well as with
80	80		sincere best wishes for success in all future endeavors.
