15	15	HR____ COMMENDING MRS. MOLLIE MACLEROY BEARDEN FOR
16	16	OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT.
17	17	WHEREAS, highest commendations are herein presented
18	18	to Mrs Mollie MacLeroy Bearden on being honored by the
19	19	Willie and Betty Farrior Family Foundation for her
20	20	outstanding service to the Talladega community and the State
21	21	of Alabama; and
22	22	WHEREAS, the Willie and Betty Farrior Family
23	23	Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in March
24	24	of 2017, by Colonel (Retired) Cedrick A. Farrior in memory
25	25	of his grandparents; both were native Alabamians who
26	26	unfortunately lost their vision at an early age; they
27	27	attended the Alabama School for the Negro Deaf and Blind in
28	28	Talladega, Alabama; they were married in October 1945;
29	29	Willie was the first Black individual to be employed at the
30	30	Alabama Industries for the Blind in June 1950; Willie
31	31	retired after completion of 40 years of employment; Betty
32	32	retired after 27 years of employment; and
33	33	WHEREAS, Mrs. Mollie MacLeroy Bearden is the daughter
34	34	of Edward MacLeroy and Mrs. Lola MacLeroy; she and her
35	35	husband, Donald "Terry" Bearden, are blessed with two
36	36	children, Tracy Bearden and Donald Bearden; they have four
37	37	grandchildren, Shelby Floyd, Brynn Gortney, Brantley
38	38	Bearden, and Easton Bearden; and three great-grandchildren;

68	68	Bearden, and Easton Bearden; and three great-grandchildren;
69	69	and
70	70	WHEREAS, in 1994, Mrs. Bearden started a local
71	71	chapter of Individual and Family Support, a support group to
72	72	cover Talladega, Coosa, Clay, and Randolph Counties; that
73	73	was the birth of Cheaha Family Support Council; this
74	74	organization is made up of all volunteers who want to serve
75	75	others with, or have a family member with, developmental
76	76	disabilities; she currently runs operations of Cheaha and
77	77	Region V; and
78	78	WHEREAS, Mrs. Bearden is also a volunteer with United
79	79	Way and Build a Bridge Food Pantry in Vincent, Alabama; she
80	80	volunteers at Grasmere Community Center; she is a member of
81	81	the Board of Alabama Deaf Blind Multiple Association; and
82	82	she is cochair of a group with Dr. Ed Hall, which stems from
83	83	United Way and helps distribute Emergency Management funds
84	84	received for North Talladega County; now therefore;
85	85	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
86	86	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Mrs. Mollie MacLeroy Bearden is
87	87	highly commended and congratulated on being honored by the
88	88	Willie and Betty Farrior Foundation for her outstanding
89	89	service to the Talladega community and the State of Alabama,
90	90	and this resolution is offered with utmost appreciation to
91	91	her, along with best wishes in all future endeavors.
