16	18		Relating to Pell City in St. Clair County; to provide
17	19		for the appointment of the members of the city board of
18	20		education; and to repeal Act 92-248, 1992 Regular Session
19	21		(Acts 1992, p. 602), as amended by Act 93-384, 1993 Regular
20	22		Session (Acts 1993, p. 659), and Act 97-858, 1997 Regular
21	23		Session (Acts 1997, p. 195); providing for the election of the
22	24		members of the Pell City Board of Education; and providing for
23	25		a contingent effective date.
24	26		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
25	27		Section 1. The members of the Pell City Board of
26	28		Education shall be appointed by the City Council of Pell City
27	29		in accordance with general law. Each member appointed to the
28	30		board shall reside within the Pell City School Attendance Zone
29	31		and Tax District as established in Section 59-10.21 of the
30	32		Constitution of Alabama of 2022, at the time of appointment
31	33		and during his or her entire term of office, with at least two
32	34		of those members being appointed from the county portion of
33	35		the Pell City School Attendance Zone and Tax District.
34	36		Section 2. Act 92-248, 1992 Regular Session (Acts 1992,
35	37		p. 602), as amended by Act 93-384, 1993 Regular Session (Acts
36		-	1993, p. 659), and Act 97-858, 1997 Regular Session (Acts
37		-	1997, p. 195), providing for the election of the members of
38		-	the Pell City Board of Education, are repealed.
39		-	Section 3. This act shall become effective upon the
40		-	ratification of an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of
41		-	2022, changing the membership of the Pell City Board of
