Enrolled, An Act,
Relating to Pell City in St. Clair County; to provide
for the appointment of the members of the city board of
education; and to repeal Act 92-248, 1992 Regular Session
(Acts 1992, p. 602), as amended by Act 93-384, 1993 Regular
Session (Acts 1993, p. 659), and Act 97-858, 1997 Regular
Session (Acts 1997, p. 195); providing for the election of the
members of the Pell City Board of Education; and providing for
a contingent effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. The members of the Pell City Board of
Education shall be appointed by the City Council of Pell City
in accordance with general law. Each member appointed to the
board shall reside within the Pell City School Attendance Zone
and Tax District as established in Section 59-10.21 of the
Constitution of Alabama of 2022, at the time of appointment
and during his or her entire term of office, with at least two
of those members being appointed from the county portion of
the Pell City School Attendance Zone and Tax District.
Section 2. Act 92-248, 1992 Regular Session (Acts 1992,
p. 602), as amended by Act 93-384, 1993 Regular Session (Acts
1993, p. 659), and Act 97-858, 1997 Regular Session (Acts
1997, p. 195), providing for the election of the members of
the Pell City Board of Education, are repealed.
Section 3. This act shall become effective upon the
ratification of an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of
2022, changing the membership of the Pell City Board of
