| 18 | 18 | | Relating to Calhoun County; to amend Section 45-8-110, |

| 21 | 21 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

| 22 | 22 | | Section 1. Section 45-8-110, Code of Alabama 1975, is |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | "ยง45-8-110 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (a)(1) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | the contrary, in the Calhoun County,Commission shall pay each |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | member of the board of registrars shall receive additional |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | compensation in the amount of fifteen dollars ($15) per day |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | for each day's attendance upon business of the board, on days |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | the board is authorized to meet and conduct business, to be |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | paid by the county commission out of the county general fund |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | of the county treasury . Such amount shall be in addition to |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | any and all other amounts provided for by law. |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (2) The Calhoun County Commission, by resolution, may |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | increase the additional compensation authorized in subdivision |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | (1). |

| 37 | 37 | | (b) If implementation of the compensation in this |

| 69 | 69 | | incumbent office holder and is prohibited by the Constitution |

| 70 | 70 | | of Alabama of 1901, as amended 2022, or otherwise by law, the |

| 71 | 71 | | increase shall be paid as an expense allowance until the |
|---|
| 72 | 72 | | beginning of the next term of office whereupon the amount of |
|---|
| 73 | 73 | | the expense allowance shall be included in the compensation |
|---|
| 74 | 74 | | for the office holder and the expense allowance shall be |
|---|
| 75 | 75 | | voided." |

| 76 | 76 | | Section 2. This act shall become effective on October |
