A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to Calhoun County; to amend Section 45-8-110,
Code of Alabama 1975; to further provide for the compensation
of the board of registrars.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Section 45-8-110, Code of Alabama 1975, is
amended to read as follows:
"ยง45-8-110
(a)(1) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to
the contrary, in the Calhoun County,Commission shall pay each
member of the board of registrars shall receive additional
compensation in the amount of fifteen dollars ($15) per day
for each day's attendance upon business of the board, on days
the board is authorized to meet and conduct business, to be
paid by the county commission out of the county general fund
of the county treasury . Such amount shall be in addition to
any and all other amounts provided for by law.
(2) The Calhoun County Commission, by resolution, may
increase the additional compensation authorized in subdivision
(1).
(b) If implementation of the compensation in this

(b) If implementation of the compensation in this
section subsection (a) increases the compensation of an
incumbent office holder and is prohibited by the Constitution
of Alabama of 1901, as amended 2022, or otherwise by law, the
increase shall be paid as an expense allowance until the
beginning of the next term of office whereupon the amount of
the expense allowance shall be included in the compensation
for the office holder and the expense allowance shall be
voided."
Section 2. This act shall become effective on October
1, 2025.
