1717 SYNOPSIS:
1818 Under existing law, the construction plans for a
1919 single family residence with a total area of less than
2020 2,500 square feet does not need the approval of a
2121 registered architect.
2222 This bill would prohibit any county or
2323 municipality from requiring the approval of a
2424 registered architect or professional engineer on plans
2525 for the construction of a single family residence under
2626 three stories in height.

2929 AN ACT
3030 Relating to residential home construction; to provide
3131 that new single family residencies under three floors in
3232 height may not be required to be approved by a registered
3333 architect or licensed professional engineer.
3434 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
3535 Section 1. Any provision of Section 34-2-32, Code of
3636 Alabama 1975, to the contrary notwithstanding, no municipality
3737 may require the approval by a registered architect or
3838 professional engineer on plans for the construction of a
