A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to Russell County; to amend Section 45-57-230,
Code of Alabama 1975, to increase the salary of the sheriff.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Section 45-57-230, Code of Alabama 1975, is
amended to read as follows:
"§45–57–230
(a) Pursuant to Amendment 380 to Section 57-8.00 of the
Constitution of Alabama of 19012022, the annual salary of the
Sheriff of Russell County shall be one hundred twenty thousand
dollars ($120,000) one hundred thirty-five thousand dollars
($135,000), which shall be paid in the same manner and at the
same time as other county employees.
(b) The salary provided in this section shall be in
lieu of any other salary provided by general or local law."
Section 2. This act shall become effective on June 1,
2025.
