16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, it is with deep sorrow and regret that we |

17 | 17 | | note the lamentable death of Alvin James Kennedy, of Lower |
---|
18 | 18 | | Peach Tree, Alabama, on February 20, 2025, at the age of 61 |
---|
19 | 19 | | years; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Alvin James Kennedy, lovingly known as |
---|
21 | 21 | | "Man," had a deep love for his church and family; full of |
---|
22 | 22 | | life, he was a devoted Alabama fan and a remarkable cook; he |
---|
23 | 23 | | found great joy in attending Quartet singings, with a |
---|
24 | 24 | | special admiration for Lee Williams; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, he graduated from Pine Hill High School in |
---|
26 | 26 | | 1982 before enrolling in the Job Corps in Louisville, |
---|
27 | 27 | | Kentucky, where he served for several years; with a strong |
---|
28 | 28 | | work ethic, he built a career in the maintenance industry, |
---|
29 | 29 | | dedicating 25 years as the Maintenance Supervisor at |
---|
30 | 30 | | Brookshire Manor Apartments; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, at an early age, Mr. Kennedy united with |
---|
32 | 32 | | Cook Valley Baptist Church in Sunny South, Alabama, under |
---|
33 | 33 | | the leadership of Pastor Leroy Houston; as a devoted member, |
---|
34 | 34 | | he served faithfully as an ordained deacon until Pastor |
---|
35 | 35 | | Houston's passing; later, he joined St. John Church in Lower |
---|
36 | 36 | | Peach Tree and continued to worship in various churches |
---|
37 | 37 | | throughout the community until God called him home; and |
---|
38 | 38 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was a kind and generous soul, |

78 | 78 | | WHEREAS, left to cherish his memory are his wife, |

79 | 79 | | Geraldine Kennedy; sons, Marshall Jowers and Jairus Bettis; |
