1515 HR____ CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF ALVIN JAMES KENNEDY.
1616 WHEREAS, it is with deep sorrow and regret that we
1717 note the lamentable death of Alvin James Kennedy, of Lower
1818 Peach Tree, Alabama, on February 20, 2025, at the age of 61
1919 years; and
2020 WHEREAS, Alvin James Kennedy, lovingly known as
2121 "Man," had a deep love for his church and family; full of
2222 life, he was a devoted Alabama fan and a remarkable cook; he
2323 found great joy in attending Quartet singings, with a
2424 special admiration for Lee Williams; and
2525 WHEREAS, he graduated from Pine Hill High School in
2626 1982 before enrolling in the Job Corps in Louisville,
2727 Kentucky, where he served for several years; with a strong
2828 work ethic, he built a career in the maintenance industry,
2929 dedicating 25 years as the Maintenance Supervisor at
3030 Brookshire Manor Apartments; and
3131 WHEREAS, at an early age, Mr. Kennedy united with
3232 Cook Valley Baptist Church in Sunny South, Alabama, under
3333 the leadership of Pastor Leroy Houston; as a devoted member,
3434 he served faithfully as an ordained deacon until Pastor
3535 Houston's passing; later, he joined St. John Church in Lower
3636 Peach Tree and continued to worship in various churches
3737 throughout the community until God called him home; and
3838 WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was a kind and generous soul,

6868 WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was a kind and generous soul,
6969 always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need; he
7070 will be remembered for his unwavering support and dedication
7171 to his community; known for his selflessness, he would go to
7272 great lengths to assist anyone; Mr. Kennedy was also a
7373 passionate race car enthusiast, frequently attending and
7474 supporting various Dragway Racing Tracks; and
7575 WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his parents,
7676 Calvin and Mary Kennedy; sisters, Gennetta Kennedy and Linda
7777 Kennedy-Sams; and brother, Levaster Jackson; and
7878 WHEREAS, left to cherish his memory are his wife,
7979 Geraldine Kennedy; sons, Marshall Jowers and Jairus Bettis;
8080 daughters, Shania Kennedy, Belinda Jackson, Machaela Bettis,
8181 Tychina Bush, and Chastanni Green; sister, Clara McMillian
8282 (Grady); brother, Calvin Kennedy (Zanetha); grandchildren,
8383 De'Andria, Ja'Christion, Jerran, Kirstin, Kiana, Kelis,
8484 Kelani, Khristi, Malaysia, Kaili, and Cerennity; great
8585 grandchildren, Amerr and Harlym; and a host of other
8686 relatives and friends; and
8787 WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was a valued member of the
8888 community who was loved by many, we join with others to
8989 celebrate his life and to mourn his death; although his
9090 presence will be greatly missed, his memory will be
9191 cherished in the hearts and minds of those who were
9292 fortunate to know him ; now therefore,
9393 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9494 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Mr. Alvin James
9595 Kennedy is recorded with deep sadness, and even as we mourn
9696 his death, we also celebrate his life; this resolution is
