15	15	HR____ CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF ALVIN JAMES KENNEDY.
16	16	WHEREAS, it is with deep sorrow and regret that we
17	17	note the lamentable death of Alvin James Kennedy, of Lower
18	18	Peach Tree, Alabama, on February 20, 2025, at the age of 61
19	19	years; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Alvin James Kennedy, lovingly known as
21	21	"Man," had a deep love for his church and family; full of
22	22	life, he was a devoted Alabama fan and a remarkable cook; he
23	23	found great joy in attending Quartet singings, with a
24	24	special admiration for Lee Williams; and
25	25	WHEREAS, he graduated from Pine Hill High School in
26	26	1982 before enrolling in the Job Corps in Louisville,
27	27	Kentucky, where he served for several years; with a strong
28	28	work ethic, he built a career in the maintenance industry,
29	29	dedicating 25 years as the Maintenance Supervisor at
30	30	Brookshire Manor Apartments; and
31	31	WHEREAS, at an early age, Mr. Kennedy united with
32	32	Cook Valley Baptist Church in Sunny South, Alabama, under
33	33	the leadership of Pastor Leroy Houston; as a devoted member,
34	34	he served faithfully as an ordained deacon until Pastor
35	35	Houston's passing; later, he joined St. John Church in Lower
36	36	Peach Tree and continued to worship in various churches
37	37	throughout the community until God called him home; and
38	38	WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was a kind and generous soul,

68	68	WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was a kind and generous soul,
69	69	always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need; he
70	70	will be remembered for his unwavering support and dedication
71	71	to his community; known for his selflessness, he would go to
72	72	great lengths to assist anyone; Mr. Kennedy was also a
73	73	passionate race car enthusiast, frequently attending and
74	74	supporting various Dragway Racing Tracks; and
75	75	WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his parents,
76	76	Calvin and Mary Kennedy; sisters, Gennetta Kennedy and Linda
77	77	Kennedy-Sams; and brother, Levaster Jackson; and
78	78	WHEREAS, left to cherish his memory are his wife,
79	79	Geraldine Kennedy; sons, Marshall Jowers and Jairus Bettis;
80	80	daughters, Shania Kennedy, Belinda Jackson, Machaela Bettis,
81	81	Tychina Bush, and Chastanni Green; sister, Clara McMillian
82	82	(Grady); brother, Calvin Kennedy (Zanetha); grandchildren,
83	83	De'Andria, Ja'Christion, Jerran, Kirstin, Kiana, Kelis,
84	84	Kelani, Khristi, Malaysia, Kaili, and Cerennity; great
85	85	grandchildren, Amerr and Harlym; and a host of other
86	86	relatives and friends; and
87	87	WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was a valued member of the
88	88	community who was loved by many, we join with others to
89	89	celebrate his life and to mourn his death; although his
90	90	presence will be greatly missed, his memory will be
91	91	cherished in the hearts and minds of those who were
92	92	fortunate to know him ; now therefore,
93	93	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
94	94	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Mr. Alvin James
95	95	Kennedy is recorded with deep sadness, and even as we mourn
96	96	his death, we also celebrate his life; this resolution is
