1515 HR____ COMMENDING THE BRILLIANT SCHOOL VARSITY LADY TIGERS
1616 BASKETBALL TEAM FOR COMPETING IN THEIR FIRST CLASS 1A STATE
1717 CHAMPIONSHIP AND OTHER ATHLETIC ACHIEVEMENTS.
1818 WHEREAS, commendations and congratulations are herein
1919 proudly extended to the Brilliant School Ladies Varsity
2020 Basketball Team for capturing the runner-up slot in the
2121 Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 1A
2222 State Championship on February 27, 2025, at Legacy Arena in
2323 Birmingham, Alabama; and
2424 WHEREAS, the Lady Tigers were also crowned Northwest
2525 Regional Champions, concluding the season with a final
2626 record of 24 wins and 12 losses, matching the school record
2727 for season wins; and
2828 WHEREAS, under the expertise and guidance provided by
2929 Head Coach Ryan Sanderson, the Class 1A Coach of the Year,
3030 and assistant coaches, Sawyer Nelson, Heath Sanderson, and
3131 Ben Johnson, the players have broadened their knowledge of
3232 the game, refined their skills in execution, and developed a
3333 tradition of superior play and true sportsmanship; and
3434 WHEREAS, this is the third straight season the Lady
3535 Tigers have had 20 plus wins, marking a total of 82 wins
3636 across four seasons; this year, the Lady Tigers made history
3737 by becoming the first team from Brilliant School, one of the
3838 smallest schools in the state, to ever play for the state

7070 WHEREAS, on a team full of exceptional athletes, a
7171 trio of juniors, Brooke O'Mary, Hadlee Sanderson, and Laine
7272 Johnson, scored 11 points each during the final game; senior
7373 Macy Moore added eight points; and
7474 WHEREAS, the 2024-2025 championship team includes
7575 Karagan Stanford, Macy Moore, Hadlee Sanderson, Laine
7676 Johnson, Brooke O'Mary, Aubrey Moye, Marlee Barnett, and
7777 Nova Smith; and
7878 WHEREAS, Hadlee Sanderson was selected as First-Team
7979 All-State and also chosen as a finalist for the Class 1A
8080 Player of the Year; and Macy Moore was selected for
8181 Third-Team All-State; and
8282 WHEREAS, the Brilliant School Varsity Lady Tigers'
8383 noteworthy success is a tremendous source of pride for their
8484 families, classmates, and the entire community, whose
8585 dedication and support have played a crucial role in
8686 motivating the team; the town has gone above and beyond to
8787 encourage the athletes, packing the stands all year and
8888 showing Tiger Pride from day one; now therefore,
8989 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9090 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the 2024-2025 Brilliant School
9191 Lady Tigers Basketball Team is congratulated for its
9292 athletic achievements including being named as the Alabama
9393 High School Athletic Association Class 1A State Championship
9494 Runner-up, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to the
9595 team members, coaches, and fans with utmost admiration,
