15	15	HR____ COMMENDING THE BRILLIANT SCHOOL VARSITY LADY TIGERS
16	16	BASKETBALL TEAM FOR COMPETING IN THEIR FIRST CLASS 1A STATE
17	17	CHAMPIONSHIP AND OTHER ATHLETIC ACHIEVEMENTS.
18	18	WHEREAS, commendations and congratulations are herein
19	19	proudly extended to the Brilliant School Ladies Varsity
20	20	Basketball Team for capturing the runner-up slot in the
21	21	Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 1A
22	22	State Championship on February 27, 2025, at Legacy Arena in
23	23	Birmingham, Alabama; and
24	24	WHEREAS, the Lady Tigers were also crowned Northwest
25	25	Regional Champions, concluding the season with a final
26	26	record of 24 wins and 12 losses, matching the school record
27	27	for season wins; and
28	28	WHEREAS, under the expertise and guidance provided by
29	29	Head Coach Ryan Sanderson, the Class 1A Coach of the Year,
30	30	and assistant coaches, Sawyer Nelson, Heath Sanderson, and
31	31	Ben Johnson, the players have broadened their knowledge of
32	32	the game, refined their skills in execution, and developed a
33	33	tradition of superior play and true sportsmanship; and
34	34	WHEREAS, this is the third straight season the Lady
35	35	Tigers have had 20 plus wins, marking a total of 82 wins
36	36	across four seasons; this year, the Lady Tigers made history
37	37	by becoming the first team from Brilliant School, one of the
38	38	smallest schools in the state, to ever play for the state

70	70	WHEREAS, on a team full of exceptional athletes, a
71	71	trio of juniors, Brooke O'Mary, Hadlee Sanderson, and Laine
72	72	Johnson, scored 11 points each during the final game; senior
73	73	Macy Moore added eight points; and
74	74	WHEREAS, the 2024-2025 championship team includes
75	75	Karagan Stanford, Macy Moore, Hadlee Sanderson, Laine
76	76	Johnson, Brooke O'Mary, Aubrey Moye, Marlee Barnett, and
77	77	Nova Smith; and
78	78	WHEREAS, Hadlee Sanderson was selected as First-Team
79	79	All-State and also chosen as a finalist for the Class 1A
80	80	Player of the Year; and Macy Moore was selected for
81	81	Third-Team All-State; and
82	82	WHEREAS, the Brilliant School Varsity Lady Tigers'
83	83	noteworthy success is a tremendous source of pride for their
84	84	families, classmates, and the entire community, whose
85	85	dedication and support have played a crucial role in
86	86	motivating the team; the town has gone above and beyond to
87	87	encourage the athletes, packing the stands all year and
88	88	showing Tiger Pride from day one; now therefore,
89	89	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
90	90	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the 2024-2025 Brilliant School
91	91	Lady Tigers Basketball Team is congratulated for its
92	92	athletic achievements including being named as the Alabama
93	93	High School Athletic Association Class 1A State Championship
94	94	Runner-up, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to the
95	95	team members, coaches, and fans with utmost admiration,
