15	15	HR____ RECOGNIZING MISS LEEDS AREA 2025 SAMANTHA HENNINGS
16	16	AND HER WORK FOR VETERANS IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA.
17	17	WHEREAS, highest commendations are herein extended to
18	18	Miss Samantha Kate "Sam" Hennings upon her selections as
19	19	Miss Leeds Area 2025 and for her work supporting, honoring,
20	20	and educating Veterans in the State of Alabama; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Miss Hennings launched a community service
22	22	initiative, Willing Hearts Devoted to Heroes, in 2024; since
23	23	then, she has participated in over 50 community service
24	24	events for Veterans, including National Anthem performances,
25	25	9/11 commemorative services, and Veterans Day celebrations;
26	26	she also hosted a benefit concert on March 14, 2025,
27	27	fundraising for the Red Barn in Leeds and their new program
28	28	for Veterans with PTSD; this three-hour event raised $700;
29	29	additionally, she will be hosting a Willing Hearts' Festival
30	30	this summer at American Legion Post 107 for the entire Leeds
31	31	community to celebrate servicemen, servicewomen, and
32	32	Veterans; and
33	33	WHEREAS, Miss Hennings is from Springville, Alabama,
34	34	and will be a first-year law student at Regent University
35	35	this fall focusing on International Law and National
36	36	Security; after earning her Doctor of Jurisprudence, she
37	37	plans on attending The University of Edinburgh to pursue a
38	38	Master of Law in International War Crimes and Peace

69	69	Treaties; it is her hope that after completing her
70	70	education, she will be able to use her degrees to work for
71	71	the United States Department of Defense; and
72	72	WHEREAS, Miss Hennings is currently working as a
73	73	legal assistant in the Veteran Affairs department of
74	74	Friedman Law Firm; through this firm, she has assisted in
75	75	helping Veterans receive over $100,000 in back benefits just
76	76	this year; and
77	77	WHEREAS, Miss Hennings' inspiration to advocate for
78	78	Veterans has been greatly influenced by her father, a Navy
79	79	Veteran who proudly served during Desert Storm and Operation
80	80	Iraqi Freedom, and her grandfather, an Air Force Veteran who
81	81	served in the Vietnam War; their experiences, shared with
82	82	her since she was very young, have given her a passion to
83	83	support, honor, and provide education to service men and
84	84	women, ultimately leading to the launch of her community
85	85	service initiative, Willing Hearts Devoted to Heroes; now
86	86	therefore,
87	87	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
88	88	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Samantha Hennings is
89	89	congratulated on winning Miss Leeds Area 2025 and commended
90	90	for her community service initiative, Willing Hearts Devoted
91	91	to Heroes.
92	92	BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution is
93	93	offered to her in deepest admiration and appreciation for
94	94	her work toward honoring and raising support for Veterans,
95	95	along with sincere best wishes for all future endeavors.
