HR____ RECOGNIZING MISS LEEDS AREA 2025 SAMANTHA HENNINGS
AND HER WORK FOR VETERANS IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA.
WHEREAS, highest commendations are herein extended to
Miss Samantha Kate "Sam" Hennings upon her selections as
Miss Leeds Area 2025 and for her work supporting, honoring,
and educating Veterans in the State of Alabama; and
WHEREAS, Miss Hennings launched a community service
initiative, Willing Hearts Devoted to Heroes, in 2024; since
then, she has participated in over 50 community service
events for Veterans, including National Anthem performances,
9/11 commemorative services, and Veterans Day celebrations;
she also hosted a benefit concert on March 14, 2025,
fundraising for the Red Barn in Leeds and their new program
for Veterans with PTSD; this three-hour event raised $700;
additionally, she will be hosting a Willing Hearts' Festival
this summer at American Legion Post 107 for the entire Leeds
community to celebrate servicemen, servicewomen, and
Veterans; and
WHEREAS, Miss Hennings is from Springville, Alabama,
and will be a first-year law student at Regent University
this fall focusing on International Law and National
Security; after earning her Doctor of Jurisprudence, she
plans on attending The University of Edinburgh to pursue a
Master of Law in International War Crimes and Peace

Master of Law in International War Crimes and Peace
Treaties; it is her hope that after completing her
education, she will be able to use her degrees to work for
the United States Department of Defense; and
WHEREAS, Miss Hennings is currently working as a
legal assistant in the Veteran Affairs department of
Friedman Law Firm; through this firm, she has assisted in
helping Veterans receive over $100,000 in back benefits just
this year; and
WHEREAS, Miss Hennings' inspiration to advocate for
Veterans has been greatly influenced by her father, a Navy
Veteran who proudly served during Desert Storm and Operation
Iraqi Freedom, and her grandfather, an Air Force Veteran who
served in the Vietnam War; their experiences, shared with
her since she was very young, have given her a passion to
support, honor, and provide education to service men and
women, ultimately leading to the launch of her community
service initiative, Willing Hearts Devoted to Heroes; now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Samantha Hennings is
congratulated on winning Miss Leeds Area 2025 and commended
for her community service initiative, Willing Hearts Devoted
to Heroes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution is
offered to her in deepest admiration and appreciation for
her work toward honoring and raising support for Veterans,
along with sincere best wishes for all future endeavors.
