15	15	HR____ COMMENDING COMBAT VETERAN GREGORY DALE FANIN FOR HIS
16	16	MILITARY SERVICE AND SERVICE TO THE ALABAMA SURFACE MINING
17	17	COMMISSION.
18	18	WHEREAS, with great pride and special pleasure,
19	19	highest commendations are presented to Combat Veteran
20	20	Gregory Dale Fanin for his many years of military service
21	21	and service to the Alabama Surface Mining Commission; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Greg Fanin graduated Oakman High School with
23	23	the honor of being nominated for the United States Military
24	24	Academy at West Point; he earned an A.A. and an A.S. from
25	25	Walker College in Business Administration; and a Bachelor of
26	26	Science in Business Administration in Public Administration,
27	27	with honors, from Samford University where he was initiated
28	28	into several academic honor societies, served on the student
29	29	government association as Senate Pro Tem, and was an
30	30	ambassador for the University Hhonors Program; he continued
31	31	his academic journey by earning an Airframe and Powerplant
32	32	license from Baker's School of Aeronautics and an A.S. in
33	33	Munitions Systems Technology from the Community College of
34	34	the United States Air Force; and
35	35	WHEREAS, Greg served a total of 25 years, six months,
36	36	and 29 days in service to the United States, retiring as
37	37	Staff Sergeant, U.S. Air Force, in 2012; he served 1,089
38	38	days in Combat Zones, including Operations Desert Shield,

71	71	WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Fanin is highly decorated
72	72	with Medals, Citations, Awards, Commendations, and Badges
73	73	for his steadfast service, a few of which include the
74	74	Defense Meritorious Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal
75	75	with two Oak Leaf Clusters; Global War on Terrorism Service
76	76	Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster; Armed Forces Expeditionary
77	77	Medal; Southwest Asia Service Medal with three Bronze Stars;
78	78	Iraq Campaign Medal with Bronze Star; Operation Iraqi
79	79	Freedom Campaign Medal; and Global War on Terrorism
80	80	Expeditionary Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster; and
81	81	WHEREAS, Greg Fanin is a Century Club Member and
82	82	Capitol Club Member of the Alabama Republican Party and has
83	83	served as President Trump's Delegate to the Republican
84	84	National Convention in 2020 and 2024; he also supports
85	85	several civic organizations including the Lion's Club and
86	86	the York #211 Free and Accepted Free Masons; he has served
87	87	the State of Alabama as a Commissioner on the Alabama
88	88	Surface Mining Commission since 2019; he is a dedicated
89	89	member of Gardendale First Baptist Church; and he is the
90	90	proud father of two daughters, Bethany Erin Grace Fanin and
91	91	Megan Hope Fanin; now therefore,
92	92	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
93	93	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Combat Veteran Gregory Dale
94	94	Fanin is highly commended for his many years of military
95	95	service and his service to the state on the Alabama Surface
96	96	Mining Commission, and this resolution is offered to him as
