1717 HR____ MOURNING THE DEATH AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF
1818 JOSEPHINE ARLENA JORDAN WILLIAMS.
1919 WHEREAS, it is with profound sadness that we note the
2020 death of Josephine Arelena Jordan Williams, of Mobile,
2121 Alabama, on February 6, 2025, at the age of 90; and
2222 WHEREAS, Ms. Williams was born on February 20, 1934,
2323 to Julia Lee Parks Buchanan and Leon Jordan; she graduated
2424 with the Class of 1952 from the Josephine Allen Private
2525 Institute in Mobile, Alabama; and
2626 WHEREAS, for many years, Josephine was a member of
2727 Lily Baptist Church; throughout her life, she served in
2828 various roles at the church and was always willing to assist
2929 wherever needed; she was known for her generosity and her
3030 ability to connect with people from all walks of life; she
3131 cherished rearing her children and delighted in spending
3232 time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
3333 WHEREAS, professionally, Josephine worked at the
3434 Courtaulds Fibers Rayon Plant in Axis, Alabama; after her
3535 retirement from Courtaulds, she served as a transportation
3636 aide for Franklin Primary Health Clinics; in her retirement,
3737 she traveled extensively, cherished her family, and enjoyed
3838 spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
3939 WHEREAS, Josephine is preceded in death by her
4040 parents; son, Lester Earl Jordan; and great-grandson, Jordan

7474 Williams; her grandchildren, Nigia McCaskill (Henry), Keland
7575 Claude (Andreanna), Aladrienne Jordan, Jolandra McNeil
7676 (Timothy), Tierra Tracy, Andre Williams II, Symone Ariel
7777 Turner (Trequan), Daysia Veal, and Carson Juwan Cole; 17
7878 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loved ones,
7979 friends, and her church family; now therefore,
8080 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8181 LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Josephine Arlena
8282 Jordan Williams is recorded with deep sadness, and this
8383 resolution is offered in tribute to her life and with
8484 heartfelt sympathy to her family, whose grief is shared by
8585 many.
