15	15	HR____ COMMENDING DR. KEVIN MCCRELESS FOR 33 YEARS OF
16	16	SERVICE IN PASTORAL MINISTRY AT BROADWAY BAPTIST CHURCH ON
17	17	THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.
18	18	WHEREAS, with great pride and special pleasure, we
19	19	highly honor Dr. Kevin McCreless for 33 years of service in
20	20	pastoral ministry at Broadway Baptist Church in Rainsville,
21	21	Alabama, on the occasion of his retirement; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Dr. McCreless' education includes an
23	23	undergraduate degree from Samford University; a Master of
24	24	Divinity from Beeson Divinity School; and a Doctor of
25	25	Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; and
26	26	WHEREAS, he entered the ministry in 1982 at New
27	27	Prospect Baptist Church in Marbury, Alabama, and he served
28	28	at Liberty Grove Baptist Church and Harpersville First
29	29	Baptist Church before accepting the call to serve as Pastor
30	30	at Broadway Baptist Church in January 1992; and
31	31	WHEREAS, when Dr. McCreless accepted the call to
32	32	serve at Broadway, he moved to Sand Mountain with his wife,
33	33	Terri, and their seven-year-old son, Luke; shortly
34	34	thereafter, their daughter, Katie, was born; together, the
35	35	McCreless family embraced their roles within the church,
36	36	navigating the joys and challenges of ministry; and
37	37	WHEREAS, throughout his tenure, Dr. McCreless has
38	38	been recognized as a visionary leader, guiding the church

68	68	been recognized as a visionary leader, guiding the church
69	69	through numerous building projects and outreach initiatives;
70	70	upon his retirement, the "new sanctuary" that was built in
71	71	2002 was formally renamed in his honor; and
72	72	WHEREAS, Dr. McCreless has a deep passion for sharing
73	73	the love of God with others and helping everyone discover a
74	74	personal relationship with Jesus; he is beloved for his
75	75	dedication to foster an atmosphere of joy, peace, love, and
76	76	hope among the church congregation that he served for so
77	77	many years; and
78	78	WHEREAS, Dr. McCreless was tirelessly committed to
79	79	community outreach, leading his church to serve the people
80	80	in DeKalb County through ministries such as Hope House,
81	81	Celebrate Recovery, and Walk Through Bethleham; he
82	82	prayerfully endeavored to walk alongside his church family
83	83	and the people in his community as they discovered God's
84	84	hope, plan, and future for their lives; now therefore,
85	85	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
86	86	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Dr. Kevin McCreless is highly
87	87	commended for 33 years of service in pastoral ministry to
88	88	Broadway Baptist Church, and we hereby dedicate this
89	89	resolution to him with heartiest gratitude, admiration, and
90	90	regard, along with sincere best wishes for continued
91	91	happiness and success.
