17	17	HR____ COMMENDING MARTY CARRELL ON BEING NOMINATED FOR THE
18	18	SOUTHWEST MOBILE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CITIZEN OF THE
19	19	YEAR AWARD.
20	20	WHEREAS, it is with great pride and special pleasure
21	21	that we recognize and commend Mrs. Marty Carrell for her
22	22	unwavering dedication to helping others, leading to her
23	23	being nominated for the Southwest Mobile County Chamber of
24	24	Commerce Citizen of the Year Award; and
25	25	WHEREAS, Mrs. Carrell exemplifies the essence of
26	26	citizenship; as a passionate advocate for her community, she
27	27	has gone above and beyond to be a light in Mobile, such as
28	28	spearheading initiatives, organizing community events, and
29	29	contributing to local development; she works tirelessly for
30	30	the Woman's Resource Center as CEO, where she works to
31	31	instill the celebration of life as a blessing; she has
32	32	served as a public servant while previously working as the
33	33	Mayor's Executive Assistant and volunteering in her church
34	34	while advocating for young girls and inspiring them to be
35	35	their best selves; and
36	36	WHEREAS, she is also the former Executive Director of
37	37	Claire's Hope, a nonprofit educational resource facility
38	38	which strives to educate, bring awareness, and celebrate the
39	39	sanctity of life; through Claire's Hope, she began a girls
40	40	program called "Stay Strong, Stay Pure, Stay Lovely," which

71	71	inspires and empowers young women to fulfill the very
72	72	purpose they were created for and to make an impact in the
73	73	world; and
74	74	WHEREAS, in addition to her measurable contributions,
75	75	Marty is a source of inspiration to those around her; she
76	76	has consistently demonstrated qualities of kindness,
77	77	integrity, and selflessness, bringing people together and
78	78	fostering a sense of unity; she exudes these qualities
79	79	through her daily compassion, such as mentoring young moms,
80	80	supporting families in need, and rallying community efforts
81	81	during challenging times; and
82	82	WHEREAS, Mrs. Carrell's unwavering commitment to her
83	83	community is matched only by her humility and generosity;
84	84	whether she is volunteering, mentoring, fundraising, or
85	85	simply lending a helping hand, she approaches every
86	86	opportunity with genuine care and enthusiasm, inspiring
87	87	others to follow suit; and
88	88	WHEREAS, Mrs. Carrell is very passionate about being
89	89	a vital part of the community that the Lord has placed her
90	90	in, whether it is cheering as a soccer mom or serving on the
91	91	PTA Board, in the office or in the grocery store; her prayer
92	92	for herself and all women is that they rise up, say "pick
93	93	me," and watch how God will use them to change the world;
94	94	and
95	95	WHEREAS, Marty is married to Dow Carrell; they have
96	96	three children, Hannah Owens (Chandler), Harrison Carrell
97	97	(Jenson), and Holden Carrell; she adores her two grandsons,
98	98	Hamp and Hutton; she enjoys Bible study, gardening,

129	129	volunteering, and drinking coffee with friends; Marty has
130	130	been the bedrock of her community and has inspired others
131	131	along the way for many years; now therefore,
132	132	BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
133	133	LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we hereby recognize and commend
134	134	Marty Carrell for her active participation in her community
135	135	and her nomination for the Southwest Mobile County Chamber
136	136	of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award, and we extend best
137	137	wishes to her in all future endeavors.
