HR____ COMMENDING MARTY CARRELL ON BEING NOMINATED FOR THE
SOUTHWEST MOBILE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CITIZEN OF THE
YEAR AWARD.
WHEREAS, it is with great pride and special pleasure
that we recognize and commend Mrs. Marty Carrell for her
unwavering dedication to helping others, leading to her
being nominated for the Southwest Mobile County Chamber of
Commerce Citizen of the Year Award; and 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Carrell exemplifies the essence of
citizenship; as a passionate advocate for her community, she
has gone above and beyond to be a light in Mobile, such as
spearheading initiatives, organizing community events, and
contributing to local development; she works tirelessly for
the Woman's Resource Center as CEO, where she works to
instill the celebration of life as a blessing; she has
served as a public servant while previously working as the
Mayor's Executive Assistant and volunteering in her church
while advocating for young girls and inspiring them to be
their best selves; and
WHEREAS, she is also the former Executive Director of
Claire's Hope, a nonprofit educational resource facility
which strives to educate, bring awareness, and celebrate the
sanctity of life; through Claire's Hope, she began a girls
program called "Stay Strong, Stay Pure, Stay Lovely," which

program called "Stay Strong, Stay Pure, Stay Lovely," which
inspires and empowers young women to fulfill the very
purpose they were created for and to make an impact in the
world; and 
WHEREAS, in addition to her measurable contributions,
Marty is a source of inspiration to those around her; she
has consistently demonstrated qualities of kindness,
integrity, and selflessness, bringing people together and
fostering a sense of unity; she exudes these qualities
through her daily compassion, such as mentoring young moms,
supporting families in need, and rallying community efforts
during challenging times; and 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Carrell's unwavering commitment to her
community is matched only by her humility and generosity;
whether she is volunteering, mentoring, fundraising, or
simply lending a helping hand, she approaches every
opportunity with genuine care and enthusiasm, inspiring
others to follow suit; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Carrell is very passionate about being
a vital part of the community that the Lord has placed her
in, whether it is cheering as a soccer mom or serving on the
PTA Board, in the office or in the grocery store; her prayer
for herself and all women is that they rise up, say "pick
me," and watch how God will use them to change the world;
and
WHEREAS, Marty is married to Dow Carrell; they have
three children, Hannah Owens (Chandler), Harrison Carrell
(Jenson), and Holden Carrell; she adores her two grandsons,
Hamp and Hutton; she enjoys Bible study, gardening,

Hamp and Hutton; she enjoys Bible study, gardening,
volunteering, and drinking coffee with friends; Marty has
been the bedrock of her community and has inspired others
along the way for many years; now therefore, 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we hereby recognize and commend
Marty Carrell for her active participation in her community
and her nomination for the Southwest Mobile County Chamber
of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award, and we extend best
wishes to her in all future endeavors.
