15	15	SYNOPSIS:
16	16	This bill would allow residents of this state to
17	17	reserve campsites at state parks in advance of
18	18	nonresidents and at a discounted rate.
19	19	A BILL
20	20	TO BE ENTITLED
21	21	AN ACT
22	22	Relating to state parks; to provide advance campsite
23	23	reservation at a discounted rate to state residents.
24	24	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
25	25	Section 1. Section 9-14-10 is added to the Code of
26	26	Alabama 1975, to read as follows:
27	27	§9-14-10
28	28	(a) Residents of this state may reserve state park
29	29	campsites and cabins, including sites for tent, RV, and
30	30	equestrian camping, up to one month in advance of
31	31	nonresidents, provided the resident and all members of his or
32	32	her household jointly may only hold one reservation at a time
33	33	in advance of nonresidents.
34	34	(b) Residents of this state shall be charged a rate of
35	35	10 percent less than the rate charged to nonresidents for the
36	36	reservation of state park campsites and cabins.

67	67	(c) A resident may be required to provide his or her
68	68	valid driver license, nondriver identification card, or other
69	69	photo identification as proof of residency in this state and
70	70	to ensure compliance with this section.
71	71	Section 2. This act shall become effective on October
72	72	1, 2025.
