SYNOPSIS:
This bill would allow residents of this state to
reserve campsites at state parks in advance of
nonresidents and at a discounted rate.
A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to state parks; to provide advance campsite
reservation at a discounted rate to state residents.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Section 9-14-10 is added to the Code of
Alabama 1975, to read as follows: 
ยง9-14-10
(a) Residents of this state may reserve state park
campsites and cabins, including sites for tent, RV, and
equestrian camping, up to one month in advance of
nonresidents, provided the resident and all members of his or
her household jointly may only hold one reservation at a time
in advance of nonresidents.
(b) Residents of this state shall be charged a rate of
10 percent less than the rate charged to nonresidents for the
reservation of state park campsites and cabins.

(c) A resident may be required to provide his or her
valid driver license, nondriver identification card, or other
photo identification as proof of residency in this state and
to ensure compliance with this section. 
Section 2. This act shall become effective on October
1, 2025.
