1717 AN ACT
1818 Relating to Bibb County; to revise the salary of the
1919 judge of probate if he or she is an attorney; and to provide
2020 for retroactive effect.
2121 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2222 Section 1. (a) This section shall only apply if the
2323 judge of probate in Bibb County is licensed to practice law in
2424 the state.
2525 (b) In Bibb County, the salary of the judge of probate
2626 shall equal 80 percent of the first step of the state base
2727 salary paid to a state district court judge on the date the
2828 judge of probate first takes office. The salary shall be paid
2929 in equal installments from the general fund of the county.
3030 (c) In addition, the judge of probate shall be entitled
3131 to any increases in salary, including step increases and
3232 cost-of-living increases, in the same amount and in the same
3333 manner as a district judge having the same number of years of
3434 service as the judge of probate.
3535 (d) The salary provided in this section shall be in
3636 lieu of any other compensation that may be provided by law to
3737 the judge of probate.

6868 Section 2. The provisions of this act are curative and
6969 shall have retroactive effect to January 1, 2021.
