17	17	SYNOPSIS:
18	18	This bill would require the Alabama Medicaid
19	19	Agency to cover any noninvasive colorectal cancer
20	20	screening test assigned a grade A or B under the
21	21	recommendations of the United States Preventive
22	22	Services Task Force.
23	23	This bill would also require the Alabama
24	24	Medicaid Agency to cover a colonoscopy based on a
25	25	positive test result.

27	27	TO BE ENTITLED
28	28	AN ACT
29	29	Relating to the Alabama Medicaid Agency; to require the
30	30	agency to cover certain noninvasive colorectal screening tests
31	31	under certain conditions; and to require the Medicaid Agency
32	32	to cover a colonoscopy based on a positive test result.
33	33	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
34	34	Section 1. The Alabama Medicaid Agency shall provide
35	35	coverage for any noninvasive colorectal cancer screening test
36	36	that is assigned a grade A or B under recommendations of the
37	37	United States Preventive Services Task Force, as the
38	38	recommendations of the task force may be amended from time to

68	68	recommendations of the task force may be amended from time to
69	69	time. The Medicaid Agency shall also provide coverage for any
70	70	colonoscopy performed based on a positive screening test
71	71	result. Coverage of the tests shall include, but not be
72	72	limited to, all of the following tests, provided the test
73	73	maintains a grade A or B rating based on recommendations of
74	74	the task force:
75	75	(1) The guaiac fecal occult blood test (gFOBT).
76	76	(2) The fecal immunochemical test (FIT).
77	77	(3) The multi-target stool DNA test (sDNA-FIT).
78	78	Section 2. This act shall be effective immediately.
