This bill would further provide that a person commits the crime of sexual extortion if he or she knowingly threatens to release or transmit any photograph, digital image, video, film, or other recording of any individual, whether recognizable or not, engaged in any act of sexually explicit conduct in order to compel or attempt to compel the victim to do any act or refrain from doing any act against his or her will. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. Section 13A-6-241, Code of Alabama 1975, is amended to read as follows: "ยง13A-6-241 (a) A person commits the crime of sexual extortion if he or she does any of the following: (1) knowingly Knowingly causes or attempts to cause another person individual to engage in sexual intercourse, sodomy, sexual contact, or in a sexual act sexually explicit conduct by communicating any threat to injure the body, property, or reputation of any individual. (2) or Knowingly causes or attempts to cause another individual to produce any photograph, digital image, video, film, or other recording of any personindividual, whether recognizable or not, engaged in any act of sadomasochistic abuse, sexual intercourse, sodomy, sexual excitement, masturbation, breast nudity, genital nudity, or other sexual conduct sexually explicit conduct by communicating any threat to injure the body, property, or reputation of any personindividual. (b) Sexual extortion is a Class B felony . (c) For the purposes of this section, the term "sexually explicit conduct" has the same meaning as defined in Section 13A-12-190 ." Section 2.
