26	25		SJR___ MOURNING THE DEATH AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF STATE
27	26		TROOPER JUSTIN JEMEL WILLIAMS.
28	27		WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow and a sense of
29	28		immense loss that news is received of the untimely death of
30	29		State Trooper Justin Jemel Williams of Monroeville, Alabama,
31	30		at the age of 42; and
32	31		WHEREAS, his passing leaves a void in the lives of
33	32		his loving family, many friends, and the community where he
34	33		was highly regarded; and
35	34		WHEREAS, an outstanding member of the community,
36	35		Justin Williams served selflessly as a state trooper for 19
37	36		years; and
38	37		WHEREAS, Justin graduated from Monroe County High
39	38		School and matriculated to Alabama A&M University; he
40	39		furthered his education by attending the Alabama Criminal
41	40		Justice Training in Selma in 2006; he then attended Alabama
42	41		Southern Community College where he earned an Associate of
43	42		Science Degree in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in
44	43		Criminal Justice in 2014; he also earned two Master of
45	44		Science Degrees in Justice Administration in 2017 and
46	45		Management in 2020 from Faulkner University; and
47	46		WHEREAS, serving as a highly respected member of
48	47		Governor Kay Ivey's security detail since 2019, Justin
49	48		Williams consistently demonstrated exceptional

80	79		professionalism and unwavering dedication to his duties; his
81	80		commitment to excellence not only ensured the safety and
82	81		security of the Governor but also fostered a supportive work
83	82		environment among his colleagues, earning their trust and
84	83		admiration; he was known for his kindness, compassion, and
85	84		loyalty, and he set a shining example for all who knew him;
86	85		and
87	86		WHEREAS, Justin was preceded in death by his father,
88	87		Donald Ray Williams; he will be lovingly remembered by his
89	88		daughter, Ramey; mother, Gwendolyn Williams Kyle; brothers,
90	89		Christopher Williams (Heather) and Darrius Williams;
91	90		sisters, Kenya Moore (Jerome), Terri Williams, Tabitha
92	91		Malone (JesHenry), and Ryann Morris (Kadarryl); and
93	92		WHEREAS, Justin Williams leaves behind a legacy of
94	93		honor and service which will long endure the passage of time
95	94		and will remain as a comforting memory to all who were
96	95		privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man; now
97	96		therefore,
98	97		BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
99	98		HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the death of State Trooper
100	99		Justin Jemel Williams is recorded with deep sadness, and
101	100		this resolution is offered in tribute to his life and
102	101		service to others, along with heartfelt sympathy to his
103	102		family, whose grief is shared by many.
