SJR___ MOURNING THE DEATH AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF STATE
TROOPER JUSTIN JEMEL WILLIAMS.
WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow and a sense of
immense loss that news is received of the untimely death of
State Trooper Justin Jemel Williams of Monroeville, Alabama,
at the age of 42; and
WHEREAS, his passing leaves a void in the lives of
his loving family, many friends, and the community where he
was highly regarded; and
WHEREAS, an outstanding member of the community,
Justin Williams served selflessly as a state trooper for 19
years; and
WHEREAS, Justin graduated from Monroe County High
School and matriculated to Alabama A&M University; he
furthered his education by attending the Alabama Criminal
Justice Training in Selma in 2006; he then attended Alabama
Southern Community College where he earned an Associate of
Science Degree in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Criminal Justice in 2014; he also earned two Master of
Science Degrees in Justice Administration in 2017 and
Management in 2020 from Faulkner University; and
WHEREAS, serving as a highly respected member of
Governor Kay Ivey's security detail since 2019, Justin
Williams consistently demonstrated exceptional

Williams consistently demonstrated exceptional
professionalism and unwavering dedication to his duties; his
commitment to excellence not only ensured the safety and
security of the Governor but also fostered a supportive work
environment among his colleagues, earning their trust and
admiration; he was known for his kindness, compassion, and
loyalty, and he set a shining example for all who knew him;
and
WHEREAS, Justin was preceded in death by his father,
Donald Ray Williams; he will be lovingly remembered by his
daughter, Ramey; mother, Gwendolyn Williams Kyle; brothers,
Christopher Williams (Heather) and Darrius Williams;
sisters, Kenya Moore (Jerome), Terri Williams, Tabitha
Malone (JesHenry), and Ryann Morris (Kadarryl); and
WHEREAS, Justin Williams leaves behind a legacy of
honor and service which will long endure the passage of time
and will remain as a comforting memory to all who were
privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man; now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the death of State Trooper
Justin Jemel Williams is recorded with deep sadness, and
this resolution is offered in tribute to his life and
service to others, along with heartfelt sympathy to his
family, whose grief is shared by many.
