1919 WHEREAS, the life-affirming impact of pregnancy help organizations on 16
2020 the women, men, children, and communities they serve is considerable and 17
2121 growing; and 18

2323 WHEREAS, pregnancy help organizations serve women in Arkansas and 20
2424 across the United States with integrity and compassion; and 21

2626 WHEREAS, more than two thousand seven hundred (2,700) pregnancy help 23
2727 organizations across the United States provide comprehensive care to women 24
2828 and men facing unplanned pregnancies, including resources to meet their 25
2929 physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs; and 26

3131 WHEREAS, pregnancy help organizations offer women free, confidential, 28
3232 and compassionate services, including pregnancy tests, peer counseling, 24 -29
3333 hour telephone hotlines, childbirth and parenting classes, referrals to 30
3434 community health care, and other support services; and 31

3636 WHEREAS, many pregnancy help organizations offer ult rasounds and other 33
3737 medical services; and 34

4747 life choices by equipping them with complete and accurate information 4
4848 regarding their pregnancy options and the development of their unborn 5

5151 WHEREAS, pregnancy help organizations provide women with compassionate 8
5252 and confidential peer counseling in a nonjudgmen tal manner regardless of 9
5353 their pregnancy outcomes; and 10

5555 WHEREAS, pregnancy help organizations provide important support and 12
5656 resources for women who choose childbirth over abortion; and 13

5858 WHEREAS, pregnancy help organizations ensure that women are receivin g 15
5959 prenatal information and services that lead to the birth of healthy infants; 16

6262 WHEREAS, many pregnancy help organizations provide grief assistance for 19
6363 women and men who regret the loss of their children from past choices they 20

6666 WHEREAS, many pregnancy help organizations work to prevent unplanned 23
6767 pregnancies by teaching effective abstinence education in public schools; and 24

6969 WHEREAS, both federal and state governments are increasingly 26
7070 recognizing the valuable services of pregnancy help o rganizations through the 27
7171 designation of public funds for such organizations; and 28

7373 WHEREAS, pregnancy help organizations operate primarily through 30
7474 reliance on the voluntary donations and time of individuals who are committed 31
7575 to caring for the needs of wome n and promoting and protecting life, 32

7777 NOW THEREFORE, 34
7878 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FOURTH GENERAL 35

8585 THAT the House of Representatives: 2
8686 (1) Strongly support pregnancy help organizations in their 3
8787 unique, positive contributions to the individual lives of women, men, and 4
8888 babies, both born and unborn; 5
8989 (2) Commend the compassionate work of tens of thousands of 6
9090 volunteers and paid staff at pregnancy help organizations in Arkansas and 7
9191 across the United States; 8
9292 (3) Strongly encourage the United States Congress and 9
9393 other federal and state government agencies to grant pregnancy help 10
9494 organizations assistance for medical equipment and abstinence education in a 11
9595 manner that does not compromise the mission or religious integrity of these 12
9696 organizations; and 13
9797 (4) Disapprove of the actions of any national, state, or local 14
9898 groups attempting to prevent pregnancy help organizations from effectively 15
9999 serving women and men facing unplanned pregnancies. 16

101101 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon its adoption a copy of this resolution 18
102102 be presented by the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives to each 19
103103 pregnancy help organization in Arkansas, to the Governor, to the President of 20
104104 the United States, and to the Vice President of the United States, and the 21
105105 Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress. 22
