2121 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 19

2323 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code ยง 6 -20-2305(b)(5)(C), concerning additional 21
2424 funding for professional learning communities, is repealed. 22
2525 (C)(i) For the 2023 -2024 school year and each school year 23
2626 thereafter, additional funding up to sixteen million five hundred thousand 24
2727 dollars ($16,500,000) provided for professional development above the amount 25
2828 in subdivision (b)(5)(A) of this section shall be used by the Division of 26
2929 Elementary and Secondary Education for the development and administration of 27
3030 professional learning communities for the benefit of public school districts. 28
3131 (ii)(a) The Division of Elementary and Secondary 29
3232 Education shall promulgate rules to administer the additional professional 30
3333 development funding under subdivision (b)(5)(C)(i) of this section. 31
3434 (b) The Division of Elementary and Secondary 32
3535 Education may partner with or choose a person, firm, corporation, or 33
3636 education service cooperative to provide the knowledge, skills, experience, 34
3737 and expertise for the development of a research -based process for the 35
3838 implementation of professional learning communities. 36
