ACHIEVEMENTS THAT BRING RENOWN TO HER AND TO THE 11 
STATE OF ARKANSAS. 12

AND TO THE STATE OF ARKANSAS. 20

 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers of Little Rock began swimming when she was 22 
four (4) years old with the Arkansas Dolphins Swim Team, breaking her first 23 
state record at the age of seven (7); and 24 
 25 
 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers began losing her vision when she was sixteen 26 
(16) years old, a condition she noticed upon waking up with blurry vision one 27 
day, and which led to a diagnosis of Multiple Mitochondrial Gene Deletion 28 
Syndrome; and 29 
 30 
 WHEREAS, this condition has progressed over the last five-and-one-half 31 
(5 1/2) years, rendering Olivia Chambers legally blind; and 32 
 33 
 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers was the Paralympic Champion in the women's 34 
four-hundred-meter freestyle S13 at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, 35

 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers also earned two (2) silver medals in the 2 
women's two-hundred-meter individual medley SM13 and women's one -hundred-3 
meter breaststroke SB13 at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, France; and 4

 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers earned two (2) silver medals and four (4) 6 
bronze medals at the 2023 Para Swimming World Championships in Manchester, 7 
England; and 8 
 9 
 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers currently holds seven (7) Para Swimming 10 
American records and two (2) Para Swimming world records, and is an eight	-11 
time medalist at World Para Swimming Series meets; and 12 
 13 
 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers is an eight -time champion at the United States 14 
Paralympics Swimming National Championships; and 15 
 16 
 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers was a bronze medalist in the four -hundred-yard 17 
individual medley at the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Championships; and 18 
 19 
 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers made the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming 20 
and Diving Scholar-Athlete Team in 2023, 2024, and 2025, made the All -21 
Missouri Valley Conference First Team in 2025, earned the Missouri Valley 22 
Conference's Most Courageous Award in 2024, and earned an All -Missouri Valley 23 
Conference Honorable Mention in 2023; and 24

 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers is a 2017 graduate of the Anthony School and a 26 
2021 graduate of Mount St. Mary Academy, and now attends the University of 27 
Northern Iowa, where she is in the Honors College with a double major in 28 
biology and psychology; and 29 
 30 
 WHEREAS, Olivia Chambers is the daughter of Alison and Brad Chambers of 31 
Little Rock, and she has one (1) brother, Mason, and one (1) sister, Emerson, 32 
 33 
NOW THEREFORE, 34 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL 35

 THAT the House of Representatives recognize Paralympic medalist Olivia 2 
Chambers of Little Rock for her remarkable gifts and incredible achievements 3 
that bring renown to her and to the State of Arkansas. 4

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 6 
presented to Olivia Chambers by the Chief Clerk of the House of 7 
Representatives. 8
