ARKANSAS TO HONOR THE DEDICATION OF ROOTED ADVISORS, 10
CELEBRATE STUDENT SUCCESS, AND EMPHASIZE THE NEED FOR 11
CONTINUED EFFORTS TO EXPAND EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER 12
OPPORTUNITIES STATEWIDE. 13

TO RECOGNIZE MARCH 19, 2025, AS ROOTED 17
DAY IN ARKANSAS. 18

WHEREAS, the Department of Education has partnered with Heartland 20
Forward and the rootEd Alliance to improve postsecondary outcomes for 21
students in rural communities by placing dedicated college and career 22
advisors in high schools to provide critical guidance and support; and 23
24
WHEREAS, rootEd has made a significant impact in Arkansas by working to 25
grow the talent pipeline by increasing college enrollment, workforce 26
readiness, and educational attainment, helping thousands of students across 27
the state access higher education and career opportunities; and 28

WHEREAS, rootEd advisors are dedicated supporters working to ensure 30
students, particularly those in underserved rural areas, have the necessary 31
resources, mentorship, and guidance to pursue and complete postsecondary 32
education; and 33

WHEREAS, rootEd works to advance and grow the Arkansas economy and is a 35
valuable initiative working to offer access to a wide variety of jobs in 36 HR1088

health care, construction, manufacturing, supply chain, education, high -speed 1
internet infrastructure, and beyond; and 2

WHEREAS, the success of rootEd Arkansas is made possible through the 4
collaboration of public and private partners including school districts, 5
state agencies, and nonprofit organizations, all committed to strengthening 6
Arkansas’s workforce and economic future; and 7

WHEREAS, celebrating rootEd Day on March 19, 2025, recognizes the 9
invaluable contributions of rootEd advisors, highlights the achievements of 10
Arkansas students, and promotes continued investment in education and 11
workforce development initiatives; and 12

WHEREAS, the House of Representatives acknowledges the importance of 14
increasing access to education and career pathways for all Arkansans, 15
particularly in rural communities, 16

NOW THEREFORE, 18
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL 19
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 20

THAT the House of Representatives recognize March 19, 2025, as rootEd 22
Day in Arkansas to honor the dedication of rootEd advisors, celebrate student 23
success, and emphasize the need for continued efforts to expand educational 24
and career opportunities statewide. 25
