Love 5 6 7 For An Act To Be Entitled 8 AN ACT TO CREATE AN INCOME TAX EXEMPTION FOR CERTAIN 9 INDIVIDUALS BASED ON INCOME AND AGE; AND FOR OTHER 10 PURPOSES. 11 12 13 Subtitle 14 TO CREATE AN INCOME TAX EXEMPTION FOR 15 CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS BASED ON INCOME AND 16 AGE. 17 18 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 19 20 SECTION 1. DO NOT CODIFY. Legislative findings. 21 The General Assembly finds that: 22 (1) Senior citizens are impacted by the rising costs of daily 23 living expenses, including without limitation rent, utilities, groceries, 24 medical expenses, and home healthcare costs, as indicated by the Consumer 25 Price Index for All Urban Consumers, which has increased significantly over 26 the years; and 27 (2) Many senior citizens are on a fixed income, which is usually 28 less than one thousand six hundred dollars ($1,600) per month. 29 30 SECTION 2. Arkansas Code Title 26, Chapter 51, Subchapter 3, is 31 amended to add an additional section to read as follows: 32 26-51-317.
