2423 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 21

2625 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code Title 27, Chapter 35, Subchapter 2, is 23
2726 amended to add an additional section to read as follows: 24
2827 27-35-214. Operation of motor vehicle with a modified bumper — 25
2928 Offense. 26
3029 (a) A person commits the offense of operation of a motor vehicle with 27
3130 a modified bumper if: 28
3231 (1) He or she operates a passenger car, pickup truck, sports 29
3332 utility vehicle, or panel truck on a public highway or street; and 30
3433 (2) The suspension, frame, or chassis of the motor vehicle has 31
3534 been modified by any means to cause the height of the front bumper of the 32
3635 motor vehicle to be at least four inches (4") in height greater than the 33
3736 height of the rear bumper of the motor vehicle. 34
3837 (b)(1) The offense of operation of a motor vehicle with a modified 35
3938 bumper is a violation subject to a fine of: 36 SB411

4241 (A) Two hundred fifty ($250) dollars for the first offense 1
4342 in a twelve-month period; and 2
4443 (B) Five hundred dollars ($500) for a second or subsequent 3
4544 offense in a twelve-month period; and 4
4645 (2) In addition to the fine imposed under subdivision (b)(1)(B) 5
4746 of this section, for a third offense in a twelve -month period, the offender's 6
4847 driver's license shall be suspended for twelve (12) months from the date of 7
4948 conviction for the third offense. 8
5049 (c) An offense under this section is a strict liability offense. 9
