Arkansas Code Title 27, Chapter 35, Subchapter 2, is 23 amended to add an additional section to read as follows: 24 27-35-214. Operation of motor vehicle with a modified bumper — 25 Offense. 26 (a) A person commits the offense of operation of a motor vehicle with 27 a modified bumper if: 28 (1) He or she operates a passenger car, pickup truck, sports 29 utility vehicle, or panel truck on a public highway or street; and 30 (2) The suspension, frame, or chassis of the motor vehicle has 31 been modified by any means to cause the height of the front bumper of the 32 motor vehicle to be at least four inches (4") in height greater than the 33 height of the rear bumper of the motor vehicle. 34 (b)(1) The offense of operation of a motor vehicle with a modified 35 bumper is a violation subject to a fine of: 36 SB411 2 03/10/2025 9:31:00 AM ZRC060 (A) Two hundred fifty ($250) dollars for the first offense 1 in a twelve-month period; and 2 (B) Five hundred dollars ($500) for a second or subsequent 3 offense in a twelve-month period; and 4 (2) In addition to the fine imposed under subdivision (b)(1)(B) 5 of this section, for a third offense in a twelve -month period, the offender's 6 driver's license shall be suspended for twelve (12) months from the date of 7 conviction for the third offense. 8 (c) An offense under this section is a strict liability offense. 9 10 11 APPROVED: 4/8/25 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36
