19	19	BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS: 17

21	21	SECTION 1. Arkansas Code § 17 -55-101(b), concerning applications for 19
22	22	licensure as an electrical inspector, is amended to read as follows: 20
23	23	(b)(1) A person shall apply for licensure as an electrical inspector 21
24	24	on a form approved by the board within thirty (30) days of employment as an 22
25	25	electrical inspector. 23
26	26	(2) A person shall be eligible to apply for licensure as an 24
27	27	electrical inspector if he or she is a: 25
28	28	(A) Master electrician; 26
29	29	(B) Journeyman electrician; 27
30	30	(C) International Code Council Electrical Inspector with 28
31	31	six (6) months of employment experience at a municipal building code 29
32	32	enforcement office; 30
33	33	(D) Arkansas Fire Training Academy International Fire 31
34	34	Service Accreditation Congress Inspector 1 with two (2) years of employment 32
35	35	experience at a fire marshal's office or fire inspector's office; 33
36	36	(E) Arkansas Fire Training Academy International Fire 34
37	37	Service Accreditation Congress Inspector 2 with one (1) year of employment 35

41	41	(F) Arkansas Fire Training Academy International Fire 1
42	42	Service Accreditation Congress Inspector 3 with six (6) months of employment 2
43	43	experience at a fire marshal's office or fire inspector's office. 3
44	44	(2)(3) Applications shall be made to the board and shall contain: 4
45	45	(A) Proof of employment with the state or a political 5
46	46	subdivision of the state as an electrical inspector in the State of Arkansas; 6
47	47	(B)(i) Verification of work experience as required by rule 7
48	48	of the board. 8
49	49	(ii) Work experience shall include without 9
50	50	limitation demonstrated knowledge of: 10
51	51	(a) The standard materials and methods used in 11
52	52	the installation of electric equipment; 12
53	53	(b) Approved methods of construction to ensure 13
54	54	the safety of persons and property; and 14
55	55	(c) The requirements of the statewide 15
56	56	standards for the construction, installation, and maintenance of electrical 16
57	57	facilities and the performance of electrical work under § 20 -31-104; and 17
58	58	(A) Proof of: 18
59	59	(i) Licensure as an electrician required under 19
60	60	subdivisions (b)(2)(A) and (B) of this section; or 20
61	61	(ii) Certification and experience required under 21
62	62	subdivisions (b)(2)(C) -(F) of this section; and 22
63	63	(C)(B) Payment of a license fee as established by rule of 23
64	64	the board that shall not exceed fifty dollars ($50.00). 24
