TO RECOGNIZE MARCH 17, 2025, AS JACK AND JILL OF 9 
AMERICA, INC., GREATER LITTLE ROCK CHAPTER DAY AT THE 10 
STATE CAPITOL AND CELEBRATE THE ORGANIZATION'S 11 
ENDURING COMMITMENT TO YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, 12 
PHILANTHROPY, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE. 13

TO RECOGNIZE MARCH 17, 2025, AS JACK AND 17 
JILL OF AMERICA, INC., GREATER LITTLE 18 
ROCK CHAPTER DAY AT THE STATE CAPITOL. 19

 WHEREAS, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., is a nationally esteemed 21 
organization with two hundred seventy -one (271) chapters spanning seven (7) 22 
geographical regions representing over fifty thousand (50,000) family members 23 
across the country; and 24 
 25 
 WHEREAS, through its annual programs guided by a national theme, Jack 26 
and Jill of America, Inc., fosters a legacy of leadership development, 27 
volunteerism, philanthropy, and civic responsibility, striving to create 28 
meaningful change in communities nationwide; and 29 
 30 
 WHEREAS, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., was founded on January 24, 31 
1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by the late Marion Stubbs Thomas, who, 32 
along with twenty (20) visionary mothers, sought to establish an organization 33 
dedicated to providing social, cultural, and educational enrichment 34 
opportunities for African -American youth aged two to nineteen (2 -19); and  35

 WHEREAS, since its inception, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., has 1 
experienced remarkable growth, as like -minded mothers have formed new 2 
chapters across the globe united by a shared dedication to children and 3 
community empowerment; and 4

 WHEREAS, the Jack and Jill of America Foundation is the philanthropic 6 
branch of the organization and since its founding in 1968, the foundation has 7 
contributed millions of dollars to support communities nationwide, furthering 8 
its mission of service and outreach; and 9 
 10 
 WHEREAS, the Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Greater Little Rock 11 
Chapter proudly marks its twenty -fifth anniversary celebrating a legacy of 12 
service, education, philanthropy, and leadership development that has 13 
positively impacted children, families, and the broader Arkansas community; 14 
and 15 
 16 
 WHEREAS, the Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Greater Little Rock 17 
Chapter benefits from strong leadership, with Dr. Telischa Lewis serving as 18 
Chapter President, and her unwavering dedication to the organization’s 19 
mission has enhanced its impact across the state; and 20 
 21 
 WHEREAS, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Greater Little Rock Chapter is 22 
also distinguished by its representation on the national stage, with Suzanne 23 
Ornelas serving as National Editor, further showcasing its commitment to 24 
leadership and service at a broader level; and 25 
 26 
 WHEREAS, the Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Greater Little Rock 27 
Chapter is a part of the Central Region, which encompasses seventeen (17) 28 
chapters across seven (7) states, stretching from the banks of the 29 
Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains under the dedicated leadership of 30 
Central Region Director Torii Ransome Freeman; and 31

 WHEREAS, the Senate recognizes and honors organizations that exemplify 33 
excellence in community service, particularly those such as Jack and Jill of 34 
America, Inc., Greater Little Rock Chapter, whose work uplifts and 35 
strengthens the future of Arkansas by investing in its youth and fostering 36    	SR45

NOW THEREFORE, 3 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY -FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE 4 
STATE OF ARKANSAS: 5

 THAT the Senate recognize March 17, 2025, as Jack and Jill of America, 7 
Inc., Greater Little Rock Chapter Day at the State Capitol and celebrate the 8 
organization's profound contributions to communities nationwide and enduring 9 
commitment to youth development, philanthropy, and community service, which 10 
continue to create lasting positive change. 11 
 12 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption, a copy of this resolution be 13 
provided to Dr. Telischa Lewis by the Secretary of the Senate. 14
