FACT SHEET FOR H.B. 2110
appropriation; firefighter training programs
Purpose
Appropriates $1,000,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2023 to the
Coconino County Community College District (Coconino CCCD) for firefighter training
programs.
Background
The Coconino CCCD has a Fire Science degree that is designed to prepare students with
the knowledge, skills and abilities to enter the fire service. Upon successful completion of the
program, a student will be able to meet the requirements for Arizona state certifications for
hazardous materials awareness and operations, fire fighter I and II and National Wildfire
Coordinating Group red card certification (Coconino CCCD).
H.B. 2110 appropriates $1,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2023 to the Coconino CCCD.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $1,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2023 to the Coconino CCCD for firefighter
training programs.
2. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
