An Act

 

amending title 32, chapter 21, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 32-2240.04; relating to veterinarians.

 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 32, chapter 21, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 32-2240.04, to read: START_STATUTE32-2240.04. Malpractice action; damages; definition A. Notwithstanding any other law, if a person prevails in a malpractice action against a veterinarian, the person may receive the following reasonable damages for the death of the person's domestic animal: 1. The fair market value of the domestic animal. 2. The cost of all reasonable and necessary veterinary medical expenses for the domestic animal resulting from the malpractice activity. B. For the purposes of this section, "domestic animal" means a mammal, bird, reptile or amphibian that is not regulated by title 3 and that is kept primarily as a pet or companion or that is bred to be a pet or companion. END_STATUTE 

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 32, chapter 21, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 32-2240.04, to read:

2. The cost of all reasonable and necessary veterinary medical expenses for the domestic animal resulting from the malpractice activity.
