 BILL NUMBER: SB 1195INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Senator Price FEBRUARY 22, 2012 An act to amend Section 6253.3 of the Government Code, relating to public records. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 1195, as introduced, Price. California Public Records Act. The California Public Records Act requires state and local agencies to make public records available for inspection by the public, subject to specified criteria, and with specified exceptions. The act prohibits a state or local agency from allowing another party to control the disclosure of information otherwise subject to disclosure pursuant to the act. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to this provision. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 6253.3 of the Government Code is amended to read: 6253.3. A state or local agency may not allow another party to control the disclosure of information  that is  otherwise subject to disclosure pursuant to this chapter.
