The bill would require the department, in consultation with interested stakeholders, to develop an application process and criteria for determining eligible grant recipients consistent with the purpose of promoting computer coding education. The bill would require the department to determine the amount and number of grants to be awarded under the program based on the after school program site enrollment and in consideration of the overall funding appropriated for this grant program in the 201819 annual Budget Act or other statute.
