WHEREAS, Roughly 200,000 service members retire or separate from the armed services every year and many find themselves unable to find employment, which leads to an increase in the homeless veteran population in the state; and
WHEREAS, California is home to 1,800,000 veterans, and the states homeless veteran population makes up about 31 percent of the entire nations homeless veteran population; and
WHEREAS, As service members transition from military life to the civilian world, many seek new careers to apply their skills in the civilian world; and
