Summary of Legislation
The bill sunsets the Strategic Action Planning Group on Aging, which is scheduled to repeal on
September 1, 2022, and makes conforming changes to statute. The bill also transfers any unspent
funds in the Strategic Action Plan on Aging Cash Fund to the Older Coloradoans Cash Fund for use
by the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) for the Colorado Commission on Aging to
implement the planning group’s recommendations.

State Transfer
In FY 2022-23, the bill requires that any remaining funds in the Strategic Action Plan on Aging Cash
Fund be transferred to the Older Coloradans Cash Fund. As of the time of this writing, the Strategic
Action Plan on Aging Cash Fund has about $87,000 in the fund. The fiscal note assumes that the
majority of this money will be spent before it is transferred and that a minimal amount will be
transferred in FY 2022-23.
Effective Date
This bill was signed into law by the Governor and took effect on April 12, 2022.
