Summary of  
Fiscal Impact: 
No fiscal impact.  The bill aligns state statute with federal law regarding certain areas 
of Medicaid eligibility.  It has no impact on state or local revenue or expenditures.

Status: 
The fiscal note reflects the introduced bill. 
Summary of Legislation 
This bill increases the eligibility level for children and pregnant women under the Children’s Basic 
Health Plan (CHP+) to up to 260 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL), and increases the Medicaid 
income eligibility level for pregnant women from 133 percent of the FPL to a federally approved 
specified percentage of the federal poverty level, adjusted for family size as set forth in state board 
rule. 
Assessment of No Fiscal Impact 
The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing currently determines eligibility for CHP+ and 
Medicaid based on federal eligibility requirements; therefore, no increase in state expenditures is 
required and the bill has no fiscal impact. 
Effective Date 
The bill takes effect upon signature of the Governor, or upon becoming law without his signature.
