2222 Under current law, if a consumer consents to an automatic renewal
2323 contract for a good or service through an online medium, the person that
2424 sells the good or service may provide the consumer with an opportunity
2525 to cancel the automatic renewal contract either online or in person.
2626 The bill changes this provision to state that the person that sells the
2727 good or service is required to provide the consumer with an opportunity

126-applicability. (1) Section 6-1-732 (1)(d), Colorado Revised Statutes, as14
127-enacted in section 1 of this act, takes effect February 16, 2026, and the15
128-remainder of the act takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on the day following the16
129-expiration of the ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general17
130-assembly; except that, if a referendum petition is filed pursuant to section18
131-1 (3) of article V of the state constitution against this act or an item,19
132-section, or part of this act within such period, then the act, item, section,20
133-or part will not take effect unless approved by the people at the general21
134-election to be held in November 2026 and, in such case, will take effect22
135-on the date of the official declaration of the vote thereon by the governor.23
136-(2) This act applies to automatic renewal contracts offered or24
137-renewed on or after the applicable effective date of this act.25
