8-Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
9-SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 17-1-168, amend
10-(3)(d) and (3)(e); and add (1)(c) and (3)(f) as follows:
11-17-1-168. Broadband infrastructure cash fund - created - repeal.

18-(3) Subject to annual appropriation by the general assembly, the
19-department may expend money from the fund to install broadband
20-infrastructure at the following correctional facilities:

23+Joint Budget Committee. The bill requires the state treasurer, on
24+July 1, 2025, to transfer $842,346 from the general fund to the broadband
25+infrastructure cash fund (fund). Current law lists the correctional facilities
26+where the money in the fund may be used to install broadband
27+infrastructure. The bill adds the Colorado territorial correctional facility

27-SECTION 2. Appropriation. For the 2025-26 state fiscal year,
28-$842,346 is appropriated to the department of corrections for use by
29-institutions. This appropriation is from the broadband infrastructure cash
30-fund created in section 17-1-168 (1)(a), C.R.S. To implement this act, the
31-institutions may use this appropriation for broadband installation.
32-SECTION 3. Safety clause. The general assembly finds,
33-determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate
34-preservation of the public peace, health, or safety or for appropriations for

36-institutions.
