SENATE BILL 25-213 BY SENATOR(S) Bridges and Amabile, Kirkmeyer; also REPRESENTATIVE(S) Sirota and Taggart, Bird. C ONCERNING THE USE OF THE BROADBAND INFRASTRUCTURE CASH FUND , AND, IN CONNECTION THEREWITH, MAKING AN APPROPRIATION. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 17-1-168, amend (3)(d) and (3)(e); and add (1)(c) and (3)(f) as follows: 17-1-168. Broadband infrastructure cash fund - created - repeal. (1) (c) O N JULY 1, 2025, THE STATE TREASURER SHALL TRANSFER EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY -TWO THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED FORTY -SIX DOLLARS FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE FUND . (3) Subject to annual appropriation by the general assembly, the department may expend money from the fund to install broadband infrastructure at the following correctional facilities: (d) Buena Vista correctional complex; and ________ Capital letters or bold & italic numbers indicate new material added to existing law; dashes through words or numbers indicate deletions from existing law and such material is not part of the act. (e) San Carlos correctional facility; AND (f) COLORADO TERRITORIAL CORRECTIONAL FACILITY . SECTION 2. Appropriation. For the 2025-26 state fiscal year, $842,346 is appropriated to the department of corrections for use by institutions. This appropriation is from the broadband infrastructure cash fund created in section 17-1-168 (1)(a), C.R.S. To implement this act, the institutions may use this appropriation for broadband installation. SECTION 3. Safety clause.
