Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:1 SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 42-3-301, add (1)(c)2 as follows:3 42-3-301. License plate cash fund - license plate fees - repeal.4 (1) (c) (I) N OTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION OF THIS SECTION TO THE5 CONTRARY, ON JUNE 30, 2025, THE STATE TREASURER SHALL TRANSFER :6 (A) F ORTY PERCENT OF THE UNEXPENDED AND UNENCUMBERED7 BALANCE OF THE LICENSE PLATE CASH FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND ; AND8 (B) F ORTY PERCENT OF THE UNEXPENDED AND UNENCUMBERED9 BALANCE OF THE LICENSE PLATE CASH FUND TO THE COLORADO DRIVES10 VEHICLE SERVICES ACCOUNT IN THE HIGHWAY USERS TAX FUND , CREATED11 IN SECTION 42-1-211 (2).12 (II) T HIS SUBSECTION (1)(c) IS REPEALED, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2026.13 SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly finds,14 determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate15 preservation of the public peace, health, or safety or for appropriations for16 the support and maintenance of the departments of the state and state17 institutions.18 293-2-
