1010 WHEREAS, The greatest need of every child is to be loved; and1
1111 WHEREAS, Parents invest an immeasurable amount of time,2
1212 energy, and devotion to raise their children and to provide them with the3
1313 support and guidance required to become responsible, productive, and4
1414 successful adults; and5
1515 WHEREAS, The responsibility of raising children is particularly6
1616 difficult when it falls on the shoulders of a single parent, whether it be7
1717 due to divorce, death, or any other circumstance; and8
1818 WHEREAS, According to United States Census data, almost a9
1919 quarter of United States families with children under 18 years of age are10
2020 single-parent families, amounting to over 10 million households; and11

48-That we, the members of the Colorado General Assembly,9
49-continue to designate March 21 as "Single Parent Day in Colorado" in10
50-respectful recognition of single parents in Colorado.11
