WHEREAS, In 2023, over 15 million children were living in1 single-parent families in the United States; and2 WHEREAS, Single parents deserve respect and recognition for3 their dedication and achievements; and4 WHEREAS, In 1984, then-President Ronald Reagan declared5 March 21 as "National Single Parent Day"; now, therefore,6 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly7 of the State of Colorado, the House of Representatives concurring herein:8 That we, the members of the Colorado General Assembly,9 continue to designate March 21 as "Single Parent Day in Colorado" in10 respectful recognition of single parents in Colorado.11 Be It Further Resolved, That a copy of this joint resolution be sent12 to Janice S.
