1515 WHEREAS, Monday, February 24, 2025, marks the three-year1
1616 anniversary of Russia's unjust invasion upon the people of Ukraine. The2
1717 Ukrainian people have fought valiantly to defend their homeland over3
1818 these past three years, sacrificing life and limb to expel a vast Russian4
1919 occupation. Currently, more than 200,000 military personnel and civilians5
2020 have given their lives for this noble fight. More than 10 million6
2121 Ukrainians have been forced to abandon both their homes and their7
2222 livelihoods; and8
2323 WHEREAS, Unfortunately, despite this tenacious resistance,9
2424 Ukraine has been subjected to an unprecedented level of destruction.10
2525 Overall, Russia's unjust invasion has caused over $157 billion in property11

4539 of supplies to the embattled people of Ukraine over these past three years.10
4640 By providing essential resources such as generators, gas stoves, and11
4741 electronics for youth education, Ukraine Power has helped countless12
4842 Ukrainians weather this turbulent period of their nation's history; now,13

5044 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly15

5246 That the Colorado State Senate:17
5347 (1) Commends Ukraine Power for its continued efforts to help the18
5448 Ukrainian people and for its advocacy on behalf of Colorado's sizable19
5549 Ukrainian population;20
5650 (2) In the midst of the ongoing tragedy, stands in support of the21
5751 Ukrainian people, who have courageously defended their homeland from22
5852 an unjust Russian invasion; and23
5953 (3) As the United States, Ukraine, and Russia work to bring this24
6054 disastrous conflict to an end, urges all involved parties to pursue a just,25
6155 sustainable peace that honors the sovereign independence of the26
6256 Ukrainian people and preserves the traditional boundaries of the27
6357 Ukrainian state.28
