AN ACT PERMITTING BUSINESS OWNERS TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN A TOWN IN WHICH THE BUSINESS IS LOCATED.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to permit a business owner who owns real property in a town, as part of his or her business, to vote in all elections and referendums in that town, provided the business owner shall also be removed from the registry list in the town in which the owner resides.

Statement of Purpose: 

To allow a business owner who owns real property in a town other than the one in which they reside to register to vote in that town.
