2424 AN ACT INCREASING ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION FOR INMATES.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

28-Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2011) The Department of Correction shall establish, within available appropriations, a pilot program to provide inmates, as defined in section 18-84 of the general statutes, with the opportunity to pursue undergraduate degrees online. For purposes of establishing such pilot program, the Department of Correction shall seek any available private or federal funds.
